Is silence sound vanishing or hearing failing

[healing failing]

'ehu hair writing into an archival hole

disoriented

rematriation of language in blood memory:

text haunted by the unsaid

A downbeat for the mind to rush into

coming to the surface

I am my mother but she is not me

not

the silences in my head

making choices in my life as

white nostalgia passes for American history.

What remains out of reach poems bring back

In each one, a spirit line //

lets

the ghosts we encounter

escape.

Who have you been protecting with your silence?
